The activity
Preparation
- Several teams of 6 students maximum
- Material
- Most of the material is provided in the Folens Secondary History Specials dedicated to World War 1 writen by Sue Merritt.
- I have just added a real war memorial. In the book, the author proposes one. But I prefered using a real monument.
Set up
- Step one : presenting one's character - discovering British society in 1914
- Step two: reading the rules
- Step three: playing the game two times
- It is important to play it twice as due to its realism, the game is over very quickly.
- Step four: exchanging about the experience
- Step five (home): writting about the experience
